Heaven's Most Beautiful
I found a Lover.
A Lover who cares not about the number of times I went astray.
A Lover who cares not about how many times I plead for grace.
Countless times I had hurt him, I know. Yet he remained.
He said He loved me, and I did not want to believe Him because Mama had told me,
“Don’t trust any man; they would deceive you.”
So, I doubted, I ignored – and all His gifts, I took for granted.
Yet, like Romeo, He called me ‘His Juliet’.
He promised to die for me – at first, I could not believe it.
But then, He did!
And I thought He was gone – GONE, never to return…
But no, He said He would be with me till the end of the world.
That he would send me a comforter, so I’d never be alone.
And that too, He did!
I heard Him whisper my name in the silence of nights,
Lighting up my path in the darkest of times. Oh, He was so gentle and kind.
So, I ran back to Mama. I told her,
“Mama, He is not a man that He should lie.
Oh, He demonstrated His perfect love towards me when love was a luxury I could not buy.
And I love him, Mama, yes, because He first loved me.”
For my filthiness, He clothes me with His righteousness as a garment.
Like make-up, He cleared my blemishes with His blood of perfection.
And He promised to make me “Heaven’s Most Beautiful,” and this time,
I believe Him.
So, I live every day as though a Performer on a stage.
With the angels as my constant audience – judging my every move.
He told me, I am more precious than the sparrows and the lilies of the valley,
Hence, he arrays me with praises and joy.
OH, my smile is my crown – a crown He gave me on the cross.
And I wear it with pride because with it, He paid the price – He paid the price for me!
I’ll follow his gentle steps on that crooked path, looking only unto my Beloved
Till the day he pronounces me The One – The most Beautiful of All.
Yes, I am His Bride – I am Heaven’s Most Beautiful, because He tells me so…
