Rejoyce Ama Deh
Hello, I am Rejoyce Ama Deh, popularly known as 'Dheri Jhoyce' through my writings. Creative writing began for me as a hobby at a very young age. I explored various genres of literature, often unknowingly. From writing jokes, songs, lyrics, and moral stories, I later discovered poetry through English Language studies at school. Out of admiration, I started writing poetry because it came naturally to me. Now I understand better — it is not just a hobby; it is a gift.
I found immense peace in writing poetry about everything around me — nature, people, dreams, and things unseen. But more than that, I loved seeing people happy when they encountered my poems. I realised that poetry has a way of making everyone feel seen — it reveals something we could all feel but cannot express. Thus, from writing about just anything, I intentionally began to write about life, purpose, love and God. And I desired to share my words with the world. I wanted everyone to read, smile, breathe in and have a renewed reason to want to live — a source of hope!
That was when 'POEMBEE' came to life — a haven where humanity feels seen, safe, sane, and assured that they are not alone.
In this quest, I found that there was not much to say about nature, the world, and mankind, without reflecting on the Creator and His great love for His creation. No better way to tell mankind who he is without telling him who God is.
Thus, POEMBEE CAMPUS OUTREACH began — a mandate of spreading the gospel of peace. The message is for all; however, in a world of unending change and psychological turmoil, I believe the younger generation is in dire need of peace above all else — I resonate with that as a young adult myself. Writing on varied topics about life, choices, clarity and the purpose of God, it is a delight to share these across campuses in Ghana, my way of sharing the love of Christ with people just like me.
Poetry, a special and beautiful form of communication and thought, is often unnoticed compared to drama, prose and other genres of literature. Thus, as a lover of literature, writer of drama, prose, and poetry, I seek so much to use this platform to re-ignite the love of poetry, which expounds the gift of solitude, reflective thoughts, love, and aliveness of the soul, among this generation and the next to come.
I once read in 2018 that "Writers are the engineers of the human souls" by Joseph Stalin, from somewhere only memory can recall. Today, I find it to be very much true. As I embark on this journey of exploring humanity and beyond through the crystal lens of the Creator and the soft-flowing ink of poetry, I beckon you to come along. Let us reach the world and build the next generation of deep thinkers, gentle speakers and lovers of humanity through poetry. Poetry lives in us!
