I Am Coming Home
I am coming home to where I belong.
The walls of the foreign land can hold me back no longer.
I trek the dusty road, barefoot, with patchy throats
Yes, I am coming home…
I am coming back to the haven where I was born,
To the hut of the breast that nursed me young.
I thirst to drink from the well that once satiated my tongue
I come again to live the only life I’ve ever known;
Back to the days when my identity was not in my belongings,
But just in my Belonging.
Back to the place where I deserved affection,
Not because of my actions,
But simply because I bore the name,
The ageless name of generations passed.
Oh, back to our “Disney” world of pure fantasy and laughter,
Which costs nothing but just us being together.
So, look down the rocky hill, there I am, coming home.
I walk this lonely road with utmost hope,
That, my home of invaluable pleasures and gold,
Remains the same as the time of old
Oh, I pray,
That this long journey of mine goes not in vain,
For if my haven loses its serene,
Where else will I call home…?
